This Privacy Policy explains how Job Pod UK collects, uses, stores and shares personal data when you visit or use jobpod.uk and related services. It also sets out your rights and how to contact us.

  1. Data controller
  • Job Pod UK  is the data controller for the personal information processed under this policy. Contact: support@jobpod.uk or via the contact page on the Site.
  1. Types of personal data we collect. We collect personal data you provide directly and data collected automatically.

A. Data you give us

  • Account information: name, email address, password (securely stored), phone number, business name and address for advertisers.
  • Listing content: business details, service descriptions, licence/qualification details, insurance information, photos, portfolio items and any documents you upload.
  • Communication content: messages between users and advertisers sent via the Site, enquiries, quotes and notes.
  • Payment and billing details: billing name, address and payment transaction IDs (we do not store full card details if a third‑party payment processor is used).
  • Reviews and ratings you post.
  • Support and verification information: documents and evidence you provide when asked (for example insurance certificates, licences).

B. Data collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, searches, clicks, IP address, device and browser information, times and dates of access, referrer URLs, and other analytics data.
  • Location data: approximate location inferred from IP or location data you provide (for example when searching by postcode).

  1. How we use personal data We use personal data for these purposes:
  • To provide, operate and maintain the Site and its features (accounts, listings, searches, messaging).
  • To manage listings: create, display, verify and moderate business listings, credentials and uploaded documents.

  • To communicate with users about enquiries, booking requests, notifications, updates and support.
  • To improve and personalise the Site, analyse usage and perform analytics.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse and illegal activity, and to enforce our Terms.
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to law enforcement requests.
  • For marketing and promotional purposes where you have given consent (you can opt out at any time).
  1. Legal bases for processing (UK GDPR) Where relevant, we rely on the following lawful bases:
  • Performance of a contract: to provide services you request (hosting listings, processing payments).
  • Legitimate interests: to operate and improve the Site, detect and prevent fraud, enforce terms, provide personalised content and carry out analytics. We balance our interests with your rights and use only necessary processing.
  • Consent: for marketing communications and non‑essential cookies where we ask your permission.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with statutory or regulatory requirements.
  1. Sharing personal data We may share data with:
  • Other users: contact details and listing information you include in a public listing are visible to users who view that listing.
  • Service providers: payment processors, hosting providers, analytics and email/notification services, verification providers and other suppliers who help us operate the Site. They process data under contract and only for specified purposes.
  • Advertising partners: where you opt in to promotional features or paid advertising, limited data may be shared to deliver those services.
  • Legal and regulatory authorities: where required by law, court order or to protect rights, property or safety.
  • Business transfers: if we sell or reorganise our business, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction (we will notify users where legally required).
  1. Cookies and tracking
  • We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, analyse use and deliver personalised content. Types:
    • Strictly necessary cookies: required for core functions (accounts, security).
    • Performance and analytics cookies: to measure site usage and improve features.

  1. Data retention

  • Account data and listings are retained while your account is active. If you close your account we will delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except for data we must keep for legal or legitimate business reasons (for example billing records for tax purposes).
  • Uploaded documents (licences, insurance) are retained while your listing is active and for a limited time after termination to support any complaint or legal process; expiry dates are used to prompt renewal.
  1. Security
  • We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include secure servers, encryption of sensitive data, access controls and regular reviews.
  • No system is completely secure; if we become aware of a data breach we will follow legal obligations for notification and take steps to contain and mitigate harm.
  1. International transfers
  • Data may be processed by service providers outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (for example standard contractual clauses) or transfers are to countries with adequate protection.
  1. Your rights Under applicable data protection law, you may have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal and contractual exceptions).

  • The Site is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such data we will delete it.
  1. Third‑party links
  • The Site may link to third‑party sites. This policy does not cover third‑party practices. Check their privacy policies before providing personal data.
  1. Marketing communications
  • We may send marketing emails about products, services and promotions where you have opted in. You can opt out at any time using links in emails or by contacting support@jobpod.uk.

  • We may update this policy. We will publish the revised version with an updated "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be notified on the Site.
